Nermal was in need of dental surgery desperately, and now we need help raising the remaining funds!
In 2007, Nermal was rescued from a home with 50+ indoor cats that were all interbreeding. Through the rescue that I volunteered for, Nermal came to live with me as a foster kitty - I fell in love and she adopted me.
Our family moved from Alberta to British Columbia, where I took up volunteering for a new rescue. This year, when Nermal started showing signs of dental disease, they kindly offered to take Nermal on so we could get a “rescue rate” at our local, most trusted veterinarian. The discount was over $600, which was absolutely amazing… but we still have over $1100 left to pay. The original bill would have been over $1700, so thankfully we don’t have to raise quite as much now.
Due to a genetic disorder (hip dysplasia), I have been off of work for nearly a year. In 16 days, I will go in for my second major surgery to help me walk properly again. I have to travel to a different city because no orthopedic surgeons on Vancouver Island even perform the surgeries I need (I am kind of a unique case). My husband, thankfully, is employed, but with two kids, we barely make ends meet on his salary. Nermal is a wonderful cat, who has seen well over 30 foster cats and kittens come through our home (before they were able to be adopted). She is the best cat a family could ask for.
I hate to ask, but we really really need help. You can visit our online fundraising page here:
